Hanging Rug on Wall - Step by Step
If you want to become really creative with your area rugs, something to consider is a hanging rug on a wall. This will add the beauty and texture of your rug to your walls giving the whole room a better perspective of your rug. Hanging a rug on the wall will also preserve the life of your rug allowing it to be seen and not walked on.
Wether you are hanging Navajo rugs or hanging an oriental rug, it does not matter the procedure is all pretty much the same. Note - Not all rugs can be hung on a wall by an amateur. Some rugs are extremely heavy and need professional help to do so safely and properly.
First you need to find a strip of carpet tack. Cut the carpet tack to the length of the rug you are going to hang. If you have problems cutting the carpet tack you might want to try using a pair of ratchet pruners (and remember to use gloves and eyewear for safety).
Next you will use screws to hold the carpet tack in place on the wall. Before putting the carpet tack on the wall make sure that it is level. If it is a heavier rug use something better than screws like anchor bolts for example. Next simply hang the rug.
Hanging rug on a wall will allow you to also cover up those faults and blemishes on your walls. Many times rugs are cheaper than many picture frames. Plus rugs look much better than a picture.
