Braided Wool Rugs offer your home a distinct style that fits your wallet

Braided Wool Rugs - An American Decorating Tradtion

Braided wool rugs are one of the most traditional rugs to be found in homes today. They are an American decorating tradition found in homes for more than 200 years. They allow a visual interest to a bare floor while also adding a bit of cushioned comfort.

Why a Braided Rug

A braided wool rug can be used in just about any room of the house. Generally, they come in a variety of circular sizes to help you fit it anywhere in the home. Larger braids can go in the living room or dining room while a smaller braided rug will be found in the bathroom and the kitchen.

For example in my home I keep a braided rug in front of the kitchen sink to add to the design of the kitchen as well as catch any spills from the sink. Since braids are so easy to clean, it doesn't matter how much traffic or spills occur also saving your valuable carpet from being damaged. These rugs are also usually reversible allowing a longer life to the rug.

Most wool braided rugs today are machine made. Some braided rugs are still handmade, although more expensive, they have a much higher quality. Look for 100% wool rugs as well. Wool is a better material than its synthetic counterparts.
