Rug Grippers and Rug Gripper Tape
Rug grippers and rug gripper tape are ways of helping you to hold your rug in place so that the area rug won’t slide around so much. Rugs tend to have sliding problems especially when on tile and hardwood floors. These types of products are made to help end that frustration.
Rug grippers come in tape form as well as a mat.
The tape version of these grippers are normally put on the outer edge of the bottom side of the rug or onto the actual flooring. If you do attach anything with adhesive, make sure that it’s not going to leave residual residue messing up your rug or the floor.
The other version of the rug gripper is more of a mat or you could consider this a really thin version of a rug pad. These don’t require any adhesives and are normally slightly smaller than the size of the rug.
Both work based on the idea that there are non slip or non skid properties in the grippers. Generally they will create some sort of friction to help the rug stay in place.
There are some benefits to rug grippers that you may not have thought about:
They make vacuuming easier since the rug holds itself in place.
Prevent trips and falls over the rug.
Prevent rolled up edges that are hard to get out so that your rug remains more flat.
They keep rugs from wrinkling or bunching up.
