Keep Rugs From Slipping
If you currently have a floor that your rug is continuously slipping on that’s not good for you or the rug. There are ways of keeping your rug from slipping.
It’s annoying for your rug to be continually out of place especially in areas of the house that are walked on. On carpets they can creep and on hardwood floors they can even cause you to fall over.
There are non slip products that help rugs not go all over the place. These do work but they are not the best option.
A better option is to invest in a rug pad. The reason is that the rug pad will protect the rug as well as keep it from slipping.
Some non slip products only target the edges of the rug and keep it from slipping. This means that the middle of the rug is exposed and gradually is worn down. The top is worn down while walking across it. A rug pad reduces the wear and tear on both the top and the bottom of the rug.
When you find a rug pad, get on that’s a little bit smaller than the rug. You don’t want it to be the exact same size else it will tend to stick out if the rug slightly shifts and just doesn’t look right.
Some pads are thick while others are thin. You really wouldn’t want to have a thick pad on something like that stairs where the rug in the middle of the living room on hardwood floors feels better with a thick rug pad.
If you have paid considerable money for your rug, it’s a good investment for a rug pad since they are extremely cheap especially in contrast to the cost of replacing the rug.
