Iron On Rug Binding

If the backing on your rugs has worn off or you make your own at home rug projects, then iron on rug binding is something to consider. Once you have the rug binding in place, the rug won’t unravel or come apart as easily.

How to put on iron on rug binding.

Make sure that your rug is upside down on a hard flat surface.

Put the binding on the rug and make sure that it’s in the spot on the rug you want and properly shaped.

Set your iron to the heat setting as specified on the package.

Take your iron and go over the rug binding.

Note that sometimes you might have to iron the binding more than once to make sure that it actually sticks.

What size of rug binding do you get to cover your rug?

4 yards of binding will cover a 3′ x 3′ rug. You need to get at least half as many yards for the total square footage of the rug.
