Cleaning Area Rugs At The Car Wash?

Not everyone owns a rug that’s worth thousands and thousands of dollars. Some own fairly cheap rugs. These rugs in the living room or along pathways in the house tend to get dirty. If you have check prices for professional rug cleaning, it almost doens’t make sense for your cheaper rugs because of the high prices. So what is an option for cleaning a rug on the cheap?

Actually you can wash a rug at the car wash. Sure it sounds a bit silly but it’s effective and does a much better job than you could do with a vacuum cleaner.

Before you leave you still need to vacuum both sides of the rug getting as much particles out of it as possible.

Take the rug to the car wash. You may want to wash your car first because the rug needs to sit on the car while washing. You don’t want to absorb the dirt off the car into the rug.

Wash from top to bottom starting on the backside of the rug. Then end off with the high pressure to make sure you get the soap out of the rug as much as possible.

If you have a truck the rug can rest in the back of the vehicle while driving home. If not, make sure you have something to protect your car from a wet rug.

At home drape it over a deck railing or patio table. It will take it about a day to dry assuming you have some sunlight.

If you have a high pressure hose at home, this will also work.
